How to Calculate The Law school GPA

Calculate your CAS GPA within minutes with these 3 simple steps:

To start calculating your LSAC/CAS GPA, first select the grades or Percentages of all the classes you’ve passed through in each of your school semesters. 

 

If you have not calculated all your school semester GPA, Calculate the 4.0 GPA scale or the Weighted 5.0 GPA Scale.

 

Grades can range from A+ to an F. For each course, choose a letter grade from the drop-down menu.

Then you can input the credit hour for each of the same classes. For example, if you have earned A+ for a 4 credit hour course, then Input 4 in the box next to the GRADE.

 

if you have more than four courses on each semester, Just Click the Add Class button and add more courses.

 

Since we are calculating the LSAC/CAS GPA, you need to calculate all your school semesters in other to get the accurate CAS law school GPA.

 

To do this, click the +Add semester button to add another semester. And repeat the above steps on each semester you are calculating.

How To Calculate your CAS GPA

To calculate your CAS GPA for law school admission, you need to calculate all your semester GPA,s separately by clicking on the +Add Semester button. And repeat and the whole process again.

 

The semester GPA would keep updating at the bottom as you keep adding your grade and Credit Unit, while the CAS GPA will keep updating on the EST. CAS GPA box.

 

Updating your GPA throughout the year will enable you to see if you are eligible for law schools admission or not. 

Quick Notes: On CAS Law School GPA

  1. Punitive withdrawals count as “Fail“.
  2. In Pass/Fail courses, passes do not count, but fails DO count.
  3. For retaken classes, both the original and the retake grade count if they’re both on the transcript.
  4. Quarter credit hours only count as 2/3 of semester credit hours.
